Chief Cassareep

Chief Brand’s Cassareep comes from the heart of Guyana. This thick brown syrup made by boiling down the juice of grated cassava with sugar and spices. Cassareep is used widely in Guyanese Pepper-pot, Stews, Guyanese Fried Rice and even Fruit Cakes. It is also perfect for complex long braised stews with rich, bold, sweet yet strong notes of the sugarcane and its sticky richness.
